Baby carriers need to hold the baby in a way which protects the spine. Make sure you don’t get one where the baby hangs with all it’s weight through the coccyx bone (tail bone). The best carriers hold the baby in a frog leg position with the knees above the bottom so the baby’s weight goes through the long bones of the legs rather than through the spine.
Ergo and Beco are good backpack style carriers like that. Mei tai is also great. Or for more versatility, a wrap is good like a Hug-a-bub, didymos or storchweiger (spelling?) (but you can make your own of these for far cheaper).
